Carbon reduction plan

Supplier name: Visku

Publication date: 1 December 2021

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Visku is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2021

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

Baseline emissions have been calculated using a two-month sample base of pre-Covid activity to generate anticipated historical emissions as these have not previously been recorded. The impact of Covid on a service-based Group will have had a significant but un-sustainable reducing impact in recent months. Although unsustainable in the short term, we are looking at the carbon reducing changes that occurred and establishing means to continue adopting workable practices around these.

We do not believe there to be any scope 1 emissions directly relevant to the activities of the Group and therefore rated as nil. Carbon emitting activities occur predominantly around scope 2 & 3. Items included within these scopes are:

Scope 2 – Office electricity usage.

Scope 3 – Business mileage and employee commuting.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 50 tCO2e by 2026. This is a reduction of 49.8%

The Group is adopting reporting practices that include the monthly reporting of Emissions to, and the appointment of, a Carbon Reduction Representative within the business whose responsibility it is to deliver on the above targets.

In addition to the emissions within Scopes 1-3 we will be introducing initiatives and benefits that support the adoption of carbon reduction within our employees’ non-work-related activities.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives:

As we establish our carbon reduction plan we have not yet had any reportable initiatives resulting in reduced carbon emissions.

A carbon reduction action plan detailing initiatives and targets will be presented internally to the board in March 2022. From this internal plan, this report will be updated with the latest reporting period figures and further information around the plan.

Examples of initiatives we expect to implement are:

  • Adopting renewable energy sourcing practices for office heat, light and power
  • Enhancing the group’s ability to carry out its consultancy practices remotely
  • Introducing benefits to employees, such as access to electric vehicles, that reduce carbon emissions
