Pallet Hotel® FAQs

We have a network of over 200 storage locations across the UK, so you can be assured there’s a great, pre-inspected, high quality Pallet Hotel® location close to where you need to store your pallets.

Each of our Pallet Hotel® locations may have slightly different opening hours, but as a minimum you’ll be able to deliver, collect and manage your pallets between 9-5, Monday to Friday. If you need a 24 hour or a 7-day operation, there will be a Pallet Hotel® that can help.

Yes, when you’re ready to book storage with the Pallet Hotel®, our Visku team will take care of all the paperwork and get your contract ready for you to sign. 

We offer a fully flexible service, with no minimum commitment terms! If you know how long you want to store your pallets for at the start of your contract, we can set it up from the get-go, but if you need a little longer at the end, no problem!

There is a minimum quantity of 1000 pallets with Pallet Hotel®, we are a truly flexible storage solution.

We accept standard UK and European sized pallets. However, we have other storage options for other pallets so please get in touch to find out how we can help.

All of our partners are fully insured and meet the high standards we set to be a part of the Pallet Hotel® network.

Flexible pallet storage is the on-demand, flexible usage of pallet warehousing to store goods. It is designed to accommodate the storage needs of many businesses – both within single storage facilities and across a network of warehouses across the country.

With flexible pallet storage, contracts are adaptable, from 1 week to 5 years. Storage spaces are fully serviced. And between 1000 to 50,000 pallets of goods can be stored by a single business across multiple locations.

There are many reasons why you should choose flexible rented warehouse storage:

• It can aid businesses temporarily if their current facilities become full.
• Can help businesses navigate disruption and keep customers supplied.

Absolutely not, you pay per week per pallet, for RH&D and for any other specialist services you have chosen (e.g. container destuffing) there are no hidden charges with Pallet Hotel.

If your pallets do not meet the presentation standards, for example a broken pallet board, our team will correct the problems, all correction actions have pre-agreed charges, and all issues will be evidenced.

No, Pallet Hotel doesn’t charge a setup fee.

Absolutely! However we’ll bet that with the visibility provided by our easy-to-use customer portal, which gives you up to date reporting on the status of your pallets, you won’t feel the need to visit them yourself.

For now, Pallet Hotel® can only accept ambient, non-hazardous products, but if you need storage for other items, contact Visku about one of our other top-notch storage options.

The maximum pallet dimensions are 1200(L) x 1000(W) x maximum height varies by site; however, if you require storage for something a little different, please get in touch to find out how we can help.

No, Pallet Hotel® is a hassle-free storage solution with its own customer portal where you can manage your stock in, out and during its stay at Pallet Hotel®.

Unlike standard storage options, climate-controlled warehousing units maintain a consistent temperature and humidity. This helps to protect sensitive items from extreme weather conditions, moisture, and other environmental factors that can cause damage.

For now, Pallet Hotel® stores only ambient goods, however soon we will be able to book in your chilled and frozen pallets. We have other storage options for temperature-controlled items, so get in touch with Visku to find out how we can help.

Each of our Pallet Hotel® locations has different configurations and capabilities. We certainly have sites with this capability, get in touch to find out how and where we can help.

Full-service storage involves not just access to flexible storage space, but on-demand collection and delivery too. Here, we pick up, store, deliver, or return your stored items as and when required. We may also offer free or paid packing services or require you to pack your belongings yourself.

All of our warehouses are ready to receive your pallets, so as soon as you’re set up in the Pallet Hotel® Portal, you can book your first delivery!

No problem, if you know what is in it! We will need make sure the container can be de-stuffed at the warehouse when it arrives, so be sure to let your customer service person know that we’re expecting a container when you are booking the delivery in.

Absolutely none, we can receive your pallets from the transport and place them securely in the warehouse with no additional tasks for you. You’ll be updated on their progress through our handy customer portal.

Yes! In fact, that’s one of the best things about Pallet Hotel®, because we have so many locations, you can store your stock close to the place where you need it to be, which should cut down on some of your transport costs too!

Our customer service team are on hand between 9 and 5, Monday to Friday if you need any help from a human being!

Yes! We have a handbook which explains how to use the portal and customer service people at the other end of the phone to answer any questions you may have.

A SKU or ‘Stock Keeping Unit’ is the name for the unit handled as stock within a warehouse.

A dock schedule is a system for managing the scheduling of deliveries and collections to the warehouse, to make a delivery or collection to the warehouse you need to book a slot on the dock schedule.

An ASN or Advance Shipping Notice is sometimes referred to as a ‘Pre-Advice’ is an electronic message sent to the receiving organisation to advise them a shipment is coming and inform them of the contents. It enables them to confirm receipt of the correct items.

A GRN or Goods Receipt Notification is a confirmation of the receipt of your delivery. The GRN data will be added to the delivery record upon receipt of the delivery at the warehouse.

Your stock holding refers to all the pallets you are storing, in this case, at the Visku Pallet Hotel®.

A despatch confirmation is confirmation that your order has been collected.

The Pallet Hotel® solution does not currently offer storage for out of gauge pallets.  However, we have other storage options as many of our partner sites can handle and store out of gauge (sometimes called ugly) pallets. Please get in touch to find out how we can help.

Each of our Pallet Hotel® locations has slightly different storage configurations. In the majority of our sites the maximum pallet weight is either 1000kg or 1500kg. If you need something heavier, please get in touch to find out how we can help.

Yes, there are. We have a customer handbook that considers industry best practice and details the requirements, which ensure that pallets can be identified and handled safely and securely on our sites. In the event that any of your pallets don’t meet the standards, our teams will share the evidence with you and fix the problems for you based on a pre-agreed schedule of costs.

Each of our Pallet Hotel® locations has different capabilities; however, they will all be able to receive a standard rear access HGV or LGV.  If you have a different vehicle, please get in touch to check that your vehicle is suitable.

No, all of our locations are fully inspected, quality assured warehouses.

Our user portal provides a consolidated view of stock, with the ability to filter by location and contract if you need site specific detail. And we’re adding new reporting features all the time.
