At Visku, we believe in the power of giving back, whether it’s through volunteering, supporting charitable causes, or lending a hand to those in need. On April 27th, our CEO, Stephen Ashton, will be running the Manchester Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. This has been inspiring for all of us at Visku and we wish him all the best with the final stretch of his training. A message from Stephen:
“As a lifelong runner, including representing Leeds University in my 20s, this is a big challenge. While I can still manage a decent 10k (achieving an English Masters qualifying time of 40 minutes, 18 months ago), 26 miles is a different beast!
So, why am I doing this? I’m running with friends from my club, Running Bear, to support and encourage, and more importantly, to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. This cause is particularly close to my heart as my late mother-in-law suffered from the disease for seven long years. Like so many, we’ve been touched by this devastating illness through friends and family.
The early mornings, the cold, and the rainy training sessions are all worthwhile when I think of the cause. If you’re able, please donate to my JustGiving page. I’ll be posting weekly updates on my training progress, hoping to inspire you in some way along the way.”
